ReikaBat: She walked alone beside the river, smelling the scents. Once again, Reika was hungry. She needed food, and soon. She most liked to suck blood, but meat was okay too. But then again, most creatures with meat had blood too. So her keen eyes searched the dusk sky, looking for something alive. The stars were just starting to appear, so it was a good time for bats.
KaiAqFox: Kai had been following the girl downstream for quite some time. She seemed like she was searching for someone, or maybe something. Kai guessed that she was hungry. It was quite obvious that she was not fully human, due to her sharp fingernails, almost claws, and demons, even half-demons for that matter, had large apetites most of the time. Kai knew he could simply pull a fish out of the river, had there been any fish in the river at the time, but the fish always travelled upstream this time of year. Kai frowned. Where could he find food? He looked up into the trees searching for a bird's nest, but saw none. He was about to give up, and approach the girl empty-mawed, when he saw a small rabbit dash into the base of a tree. The hollow beneath the roots was a tight fit, but Kai was small enough to get in. Through the darkness, Kai could see a family of rabbits backed against the wall of the hollow, shivering fearfully. Kai whined, feeling sympathetic, but quickly grabbed one of the adult rabbits, the father by the smell of it, and bit down hard on its neck. It twiched for a few seconds before going limp. With one last glimpse at the remains of the rabbit family, still backed against the edge of the hollow, Kai fled the hollow, following the girl's scent. She smalled slightly of bat, and it was an easy smell to trace on the ground. He soon caught up with her, but was wise enough not to come at her at a full run. Instead, he sort of trotted over to her, still beside the river, and lay the dead rabbit at her feet. He looked up at her innocently, panting quickly, with his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth. He tilted his head slightly, his question hanging pitifully in the air. Are you hungry?
ReikaBat: Reika noticed the smell of blood, dead blood, almost instantly, she tuned her senses behind her an found that she coul hear, and even smell, the small patter of feet as a small animal- fox by the scent- came trotting up with a dead rabbit in it's jaws. She stopped as it neared, and dropped the rodent at her feet. Reika looked over the small creature that was looking back at her. It seemed... the rabbit was for her. "Uh... thanks?" Reika said cautiously, bending her knees slightly and reaching for the rabbit. As her fingers closed around it's body, she gave an incredulous small smile at the fox, before sniffing at the rabbit. Was it poisoned?
KaiAqFox: Kai's tongue curled back into his mouth. Thr girl sniffed the rabbit cautiously, and Kai immediately felt sad for not being trusted. He looked up at her with pouting eyes, another question hangning uselessly in the air. You don't trust me? Kai whined softly. He hated being distrusted, especially when his intentions were at their best. Kai moved slowly to the river, and sat in front of it, looking down at his paws. Had he been capable of tears, he would have been crying. Cheer up young fox. She will trust you soon enough, the river said, raising his spirits only slightly. Kai yawned. It was getting dark, and Kai was a little tired. Maybe he would just sleep....
ReikBat:She watched with mil curiosity as the little fox moved to the rivers edge and looked down. Was... was he sad? Eh, Reika might not have cared... had the thing not brought her food, albeit tiny. Well, it was nice. And if Reika was still hungry, she could simply eat the fox afteward. She sniffed at the tiny body once more before sinking her fangs into it, instantly enjoying the intake of blood. It was nothing compared to that of a youkai or even a human, but it was still great. Too bad, she soon finished the tiny body as it was sucked dry of it's internal fluids. She then took a bite out of it's flesh where she'd punctured with her fangs to draw the blood.
KaiAqFox: Kai heard the girl sink her fangs into the rabbit, and cheered up quickly. He decided not to watch her drink, but continued to watch the river. He waited until he heard no more noises of the small creature being devoured before turning, and walking up beside the girl. He looked up at her with bright eyes, his five tails wagging slightly behind him. "Kai," he said simply. It was the only word he could speak. His name. Then, he jumped up on her leg, and rubbed his head on the underside of her palm.
ReikaBat: As she finished it, she noticed that the fox had moved closer to her again. Wondering what it was going to do, she twitched her ears in it's direction. It abrubtly stood on her leg and rubbed it's tiny little head on her hand. She was so suprirsed she almost screeched- in a batty way. But she calme herself before she did anything weird. Reika wondered at the word he'd said. "Kai? What's that?" She tilted her head, looking at him. There was a fine line between tolerance and meal, and this fox was standing on it. Come to think of it, why am I considering not eating it?
