Tranquillity. Such an extraordinary aspect to gain. When going through a period of such malicious behavior from merciless youkai's it is hard to actually have some form of peace now and days. Atleast that's what Midori felt. Since the youkai's now wanted to enslave hanyou's it was hard for her to roam freely around the villages. She could not even fulfill her duties as an assassin in fear that someone might trap her and ship off to the market at Oraiku. Inwardly, she knew it would be hard to escape the demon lords once she had been put under captivating, fore she wasn't strong enough to fight them on her own. It was hard for her to concede the ugly truth but even she Miss "I can handle anything" could not deny there strength. It scared her, to even think about what kind of damage they were capable of inflicting on her. Before, when she would wander across the country, she would witness the unbearing beatings that the humans would have to endure. It didn't pain her, but she knew it was injustice. Now she is not one to talk, due to her occupation she had dealt with worse scenarios but it did not mean that she liked it. Its just something she did in means of survival. But not all her missions were centered around killing, that's what many people had failed to comprehend. Some of her missions revovled around guarding and protecting her customers. That part she enjoyed, whether she would confess to it or not, she did. Mainly because for the first time she wasn't alone. Even if they could not manage to cope with one another, Midori was grateful that she had someone to occompany her.
Midori had decided to settle herself beside the ocean. It always calmed her for some reason. She never understood it but the sounds of the waves hitting the shore usually made her feel peaceful. Her exterior was built so that she would seem like a typical, arrogant hanyou but the ocean could break her facade. Her tail had wagged excessively and her ears drooped in a relaxing type of way. This was the only time that she could feel her emotions running loose. The only time that she could overlook the things that had pestered her and finally be able to let her brain free from its penetrating thoughts. She took of her shoes, whom were still covered in blood from her previous assignment. Then she had removed her chakrams from her sheath and carefully placed them next to her. The weapons were of an importance to her. They were banged up, and needed a serious make over but she did not wish that. She disapproved of anyone touching them or trying to fix its flaws. She wanted them just like they were given to her and she will hurt anybody who dared to lay a finger on them. It was not a severe matter like she always made it out to be it was just actually rather quite small. But since that was the only memory of Nabiki, she had no desire to mislay them.
Now standing on her two sleek legs, Midori slowly walked towards the water. She wanted to dip her feet into them but she was uncertain how cold the water would be. Deciding to test it out, Midori stretched her left leg out, long enough so that the tip of her feet could feel the water before her. Just like she had figured, the temperature was almost nearly freezing. She shivered slightly, as the waves carressed her foot. She withdrew her leg quickly before the second wave would come. "How could the water still be so cold when its spring?" That question was always a mystery to her. The sun was beaming against the big blue sea, and the climate got warmer as the days grew. But it was the crack of dawn and she was attentive to the slight chill that the wind brung whenever it breezed by. So maybe that was the anwser to her question. As the waves somewhat diminished, Midori stared at her reflection. It stared back her with there crimson red diamonds which vested in there sockets. She took a good look at her face, analyzing her physical appearance. The kitsune never quite examined herself often. She found it pointless to be so concerned on her growth. But from time to time she would look at herself and would only see a whirl of emptiness. Instead of acknowleding she beautiful girl, she would instead only see the hollowness that she harbored. Her face had shown great sadness and her eyes were mournful. She was not exactly the concieted type. As she scrutinized herself, the waves would occasionally wash ashore, causing her reflection to appear and disappear. This was a symbolism to her own attitude. How she would yearn for a friend yet chased them away. But she had to do it, its not like she WANTED to. Yes, she could come off a bit strong sometimes but that was for there own safety. She did not wish to create harm nor despair. So she sheltered her feelings, believing that it was the only way. But she did hope that one day, that someone would tear down the walls that she had worked so hard to build around her and show her the proper way into seeing things. To Midori that thought seemed far, far away from her grasp. But a girl can always dream ..... can't they ?

The deep red hood, embroidered with gold and black hid the female hanyou’s face from view. Her rosy-brown orbs peered out from the black shadow cast on her face from the fabric of her hood, watching the world around her pass to and from her vision as she made her way toward the sound of lapping waves. It’d been a while since she’d seen the ocean. The young girl’s appearance was completely human. There were no special markings, no demonic deformities. She had no sign on her body of the massive black wings they she harbored inside of her fragile figure. The only thing that really portrayed her as different were her clothes – a scarlet shirt that hugged her body until just below her breasts, then formed flowing sleeves and a large hood, followed by very small black shorts and long black leggings – and the massive scar on her left side. No normal human girl would bear such a mark on her ivory skin. The mark was all that was left of the demon she’d fought. The demon who disgraced her father and jeered at her for having a half blooded mother. This had pushed her past the line that the delicate thread of her mind had set and she’d lost it. The demon was no more.
As the mixed blood female stepped out onto the sand she moved her thin arms up to remove her hood. However movement caught her eye and she looked to its source - a female hanyou. She was a fox from the looks of her. Xeria, released her hood and slowly, quietly made her way through the soft sand to stand behind a bleached white rock to observe the girl. Her small, soft mouth had parted into a curious look as she watched the female dip her toe into the water. What was she thinking? It had to be freezing! She almost shivered just thinking about how cold it had to be. A small smile curved over her lips and a high giggle escaped her throat. The sound was quiet, and over the churning of the waves, it would have been hard to hear. She crouched slightly, hopping enough to catch her hands on the top of the stone, then using her feet to walk herself up it side and come to a sit on the top.
She frowned. She pitied the girl. She had more human blood in her then she, Xeria, did. Being of three fourths demon instead of half like most, Xeria held more demonic power and less of a human heart. Human hearts…
“The water is cold because it’s tainted by the human souls. They’re so cold and blacker than any demons,” she said, answering the girl’s private question. Her voice was high-pitched and had the tone that suggested she was talking to a friend, but held hidden feelings of hostility. Of course with that comment, the hostilities were rather obvious.

Midori had smelled the raven hanyou before she had even gotten within a good distance to her. The scent had filled her nostrils, tickling her noise with its essence. She sniffed the air to get a good idea on exactly how close was the sneaky little bird. She was nearby and judging but how the stench was intensly increasing, Midori knew that she|he was coming towards her direction. There was still enough time to react to this unexpected and unwanted visitor but the kistune decided that it would be a waste of time. It was also be a disturbance to the peaceful state that she was in right now. She vacated from the shore, making her way to the spot that she had settled at. She looked at her chakrams in a questionable manner. She debated whether she would be in need of her blades, just in case the hanyou wasn't very friendly. Even if she|he was, Midori was not particularly polite. So either way a fight would most likely befall the young assassin. After all she was incapable of controlling the snake like tongue that lyed in her mouth.
The stench was getting stronger by the second, indicating that the visitor was approaching. The wind blew, making the red scarf that was tied around her neck feel as if it were choking her. She used her hands to loosen the grip of the shawl, and as she did she couldn't shake the feeling as if someone was watching her. The thought sent a slight chill down her spine. Not because she was scared, more because she did not know exactly where the guest was hiding at. She was positive that the stranger was the raven hanyou that she had smelled before. The stench was more powerful then it had previously been, which re assured the kitsune that her visitor was peeping at her from afar.
She scan the area, in hopes that she would discover the observer. Midori's eye sight was far the superb. Being of half demon decent, she had obtained the powers that normal humans could not harness. Vision was among the many traits that she had gained due to her inhuman dominance. This was an advantage for her and it was useful for the situations she was constantly get herself into. But the downfall to these qualities were that she was STILL human and because of this significant reason she still had a good amount of weaknesses that she would not admit it to. Although one of those weakness was losing her demonic aura whenever a full moon occurred, which was a big annoyance to her. However that was digressing off topic. Right now her main was concern was the guest who was concealing his or herself.
Midori wasn't really in the mood to create a fight but if she had to she would. That's when she found her target. A girl, a young girl sitting ontop of a rock that rested near her. There was certainly a good amount of distance between them but it was close enough so that Midori could examine her. She had medium violent colored haired that looked as if she had just woke up. It was rather messy but it compliment her pretty face. Her light brown eyes looked like little beads as she eyed Midori. She wreaked of bird, which intrigued the young kitsune. She had encountered many bird youkai's but none interested her like the one amongst her. Maybe it was the cold vibe that she had let off but it drew her in, feeling the need to get to know her. But due to her own exterior, the kitsune would not reveal her true spirits.
The raven had responsed to the question that she had asked herself just a few moments ago. Her reply had struck Midori as odd. She spoke so hateful about mortals yet she harbored some human blood herself. Maybe past experiences with the humans had caused her to become so against them. The kitsune had issues of her own with mortals but she never wished any harm or thought of them as filth. No matter how cruel they had treated her, she was not for mistreating them. But that was ONLY if they had not provoked her to do so. "Humans are not the only "filth" in this world. You shouldn't talk so bad about them since you are a human yourself." Midori retorted trying not to come off too strongly as she was prone to doing. She didn't know exactly what this hanyou desired but her thoughts led her to believe that she wasn't itching for a fight either.

Her laugh escaped her soft lips as her delicate arms crossed, laying each hand on it's opposite side, somewhat concealing the massive scar on her left. "Me? Human? No, no, I'm a hanyou, however I've got more demon in me then most others. That wretched half blood mother of mine tainted my blood." Her lyrics were high and friendly, but had a thick coating of hatred. Everything with human blood was filth to her. Humans killed everything in site to make sure the world worked how they wanted it to. If they didn't like where a tree was, they cut it down. If they wanted their village in a certain spot, they wiped out the wild life there to make sure they got it. At least demons lived with nature.
Her lightly colored eyes turned and rested on her new acquaintance. She was pretty with her red eyes, which reminded herself of her own eyes when she was transformed, and orange hair. She rather liked how they glistened in the sunlight at the beach. She couldn't help but see her tail. She hadn't seen many half-demons with tails. Many demons with tails either,f or that matter. And it was so fluffy and cute! They crinkled slightly as she smiled, but there was a hidden glare. "I don't know what my dear father saw in her."
She reached her hands back to steady herself as she stood up on the rock. Her slender legs, covered by the black leggings were held close together. She was balancing on the toes of one foot, the other was stretched in front as if taking a step. She give a slight hop of her balanced foot and flipped to the sand ground below. In the process, her crimson hood slipped off. Her violet locks cut so shaggily glittered in the sun.
"My name is Xeria. My father is a powerful Raven demon," the seventeen year old reached her hand out to offer a hand shake. "My mother was a half-snake demon. She'd dead now." A sinister smile crossed over her face, hinting ever so slightly at the reason her mother was dead. About the small girl with violet hair who had killed her for keeping her back. "What's your name?"
Her body was tense, she didn't know whether or not this girl wanted a fight. Her hostility often got her in trouble.

As Xeria laughed, it made Midori feel slightly uncomfortable. "How could that be funny? she thought as she observed the girl closely. From as far as she could see the girl had contained some human qualities to her. But that fact that she denied her mortal side made Midori ponder on what EXACTLY did the humans do to her? They had to have done something horrid to the poor girl for her to detest them so much. Listening to her say that her mother "tainted" her blood was a clear clue that there was tention between the half breed and her "dearest" mother. Even though the raven spoke calmly of the matter, Midori could sense the hate escaping from her words.
The hanyou stared at Midori and it was clear that the raven was scrutinizing the kitsune. If she hated humans so much how could she tolerate and halfling like herself? She didn't show any signs of battle, which was fantastic considering that Midori did not wish to battle niether. Plus the ocean was too comforting for any uproars to be created. It was also rather nice to have some one around that she wouldn't have to kill. Midori felt as ease knowing this. Usually she was all for fighting to see how strong was her opponent but she was by the sea. The calm and peaceful ocean. It would be quite rude to disturb that peace with unnessecary violence. Plus she had no energy in her to in attempt to move a muscle.
She watched closely as the raven try to stand herself on the rock, making sure she had the right balance so that she wouldn't fall. Midori assumed that her favorite color was black, judging by the dark color attire that she had worn. The raven hanyou had resembled a raven only in colors but her appearance was far too beautiful to be in that catergory of a bird. Midori encountered many bird demons and not one of them looked quite like the one before her. She was not aware that some flying creatures could be so beautiful.
The girl introduced herself by the name of Xeria. She was obviously of raven decent and was proud to admit that her father was very powerful. Xeria had stretched out her hand towards the kitsune. Midori guessed that this was some sort of gesture to ensue there little bond that they had going on. She wasn't use to things like this so she was not entirely sure how to react to it. Xeria spoke alittle of her mother and how she existance in this world was no longer but a faded memory. By Xeria's tone she was certain that her death did not effect her. Something about her tone made Midori alittle uneasy, making her feel as if Xeria was the cause of it somehow. "My name is Midori" She replied as she slowly extended her arm out to touch the hanyou's. She grasped her hand around the raven's, being careful not to make it a tight hold so that her claws would not sink into her skin. Not clear on what to do next Midori looked at Xeria sternly with a puzzled look. "So much hate towards humans yet your still talking to me. Why is that?"
