[REDEMPTION]

So I used to do the whole "Member of the Month" and "Character of the Month" thing, and at first, I chose not to do it here. There are a variety of different types of "-of the months":

- General Member of the Month
- Female Member of the Month
- Male Member of the Month
- General Character of the Month
- Female Character of the Month
- Male Character of the Month

What are y'all's opinions? Please reply to this thread to explain your vote. This would be really helpful to me in making this decision! Should we have these or not? If yes, then which ones (some or all)? What types of things would y'all recommend?

I like the General Member, Female Character, and Male Character of the month. In my opinion, it makes people work harder on their characters to try and get to the goal of being a character of the month. The only down side is, some people might complain about not winning. I've always enjoyed these polls, though. I even had a male character win once.

^^;; I've never liked these things, they always get ugly later on down the road. I ended up having to leave a site because of how awful members were with the otm's, so...I really would prefer to not have any, but that's just me. I might not participate if we do have them, just because of my history with them.

I wouldn't mind having them, though often I'm lazy enough that I don't participate. But I know and talk to a whole ton of the members here, so I feel more like I'm part of the community - I'd be able to actually have some fun with nominating people, as long as no rifts are caused. Internet drama makes me hide. D:

I've always liked it when particularly interesting characters are recognized, Dunno why.
